ODOP: The Tornado and the Dog (6)

6.

The wild and ungainly charge,
the almost-straight line —

the guile of his foe
that feinted mid-blow from behind.

The tornado pulled him up by his hind legs;
For all his terror, the rest followed,
And no one heard his yips.
