ODOP: Tornado and the Dog (1)

A tornado is a devil swell
It asks to pass and regardless does.

Towns clear out of the way, they scarper.

Whole towns. Their laughter and their loads.

Pack the kids in the car. They’ve made sure
to take their handhelds. Pack the
Heppelwhite cradle. You can’t replace that.
Strung up on the roof of the car.
And take a good supply of cigarettes.
You’re ready now, you’re running late, you go.

Some things get left behind.
