ODOP: Bondslave

Alack the day, I lack a way
To put off or to pay
My debt to you, you shrewd shrew,
Who, as you always say,

Owns me now, and has shown me how
To respect a vow,
And to put off all fun, and the waves, and the sun,
And all things you disallow.

One way to be is open to me
Even on bended knee,
With jester’s guile to make you smile
And then I’m better than free.

Yay for meter! I’ve missed reading poetry for the last few days, have been Internetless, alas.

  2. Has the university shut down the labs for the interim? 😉
